Also known as Carambola or Star Apple.
An extraordinary plant that produces an abundance of beautiful flowers that give rise to star-shaped fruit in the summer and fall. The star fruit is a waxy, yellow fruit that has a sweet-tart flavor.
The Carambola plant is excellent for container gardening.
Plant Care
For optimal growth, the starfruit tree thrives in well-draining loamy soil.
The starfruit tree requires bright sunlight to thrive. Ensure it is near a sunny spot and rotate it occasionally for uniform light distribution. Water it regularly. While they are not tolerant of droughts, excessive watering or consistent heavy rainfall can impede fruit production.
When you receive your plant, we suggest amending your soil with coco coir or coco perlite to keep your mix fluffy and make the best environment for the roots to establish and grow healthy.
- Propagation Method: Grafted.
- Fertility: Self-fertilizes.
- Temperature Tolerance
- Ideal Minimum: 15 C
- Minimum Tolerated (briefly): 10 C
