Casturi (Kasturi) is often called the holy grail of mangoes—and for good reason. Native to Borneo, this rare fruit isn’t your typical mango; many say it’s in a category of its own. Small in size but enormous in flavor, Casturi has dramatic black-purple skin and deep orange flesh bursting with rich, complex, almost intoxicating aroma and taste. Packed with vitamins and prized as a tropical superfood, it comes from a different Mangifera species than common mangoes, making it a true collector’s fruit. Exceptionally resistant to anthracnose and nearly impossible to forget once tasted. Casturi is the kind of fruit that turns curiosity into obsession.

Plant Care

Keep in full sunlight. Protect it from frost and chilly drafts, as it prefers warm temperatures. Use well-draining, slightly acidic soil rich in organic matter, particularly in pots. Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged, and water when the top inch feels dry. During the growing season (spring and summer), feed with a balanced fertilizer. Prune as needed to maintain shape. Be vigilant against pests.
